The N4OLT Internet Remote Base station located in West Palm Beach, Florida is open for use by SWLs, hams and prospective hams interested in remote control of ham radio stations over the Internet.
Guest Users. The station may be used by guests in the receive only mode. There are four ways a guest may use the station.
1. Echolink. Connect to the station using Echolink, N4OLT-L.
Monitor the radio rx-only via Echolink @ N4OLT-L
USE ECHOLINK CHAT COMMANDS TO TUNE THE RADIO WHEN NO ONE IS LOGGED AS A CONTROL OPERATOR OF THE REMOTE
Enter FREQ in KHz or MHz, e.g. 7255 or 7.255, 146790 0r 146.79
Enter MODE, e.g. U, L, A, F, C
FREQ SCANING: scan Increment_in_Hz
e.g. scan 100, scan -100
ENTER stops the scan
INCREMENT FREQ: +/- Increment
e.g. +1 (1 khz), +10 (10Khz), +100 (100Hz), +50 (50Hz)
NOTE THAT ECHOLINK WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE SAME CHAT INPUTS ENTERED IMMEDIATELY
TWICE IN A ROW. SO TO FOOL ECHOLINK ADD A CHARACTER AT THE END OF THE STRING.
THE ADDED CHARACTER WILL NOT EFFECT TO NUMERICAL VALUES,
e.g. +100, +100a, +100b will register as three instances of an 100Hz increment.
2. Skype. Guest stations may also connect to N4OLT using Skype. N4OLT will automatically answer and you will be able to listen to any frequency - to which N4OLT is tuned. Use n4olt_remotebase to connect to N4OLT via Skype.
